Youth Hockey Categories

The Valley Youth Hockey Royals Learn To Play Program is an 8 week, 1 hour on-ice course for players to develop fundamental individual hockey skills needed for successful game play. The class is for beginning and intermediate players who have successfully completed a “Learn To Skate” style class or are able to demonstrate basic hockey skating experience (stride, stops, turns, backwards).

Each session involves station-oriented skill drills for skating, stick handling, and shooting development through USA Hockey recommended game-style learning and age-specific development models. In addition to the on-ice sessions, players will receive a tee shirt and two free stick time sessions* to continue practicing what they’ve learned in class.

Full equipment is required.

The Valley Youth Hockey Monarchs In-House Program is an 8 week, 90 minute on-ice class for players to develop fundamental team-play skills in a lightly competitive game environment. The class is for intermediate players who have successfully completed our Nobels Learn To Skate and Royals Learn To Play programs or are able to demonstrate acceptable on-ice hockey playing experience.

Each session involves station-oriented skill drills for team play development through USA Hockey recommended game-style learning and age-specific development models.  In addition to the on-ice sessions, players will receive a jersey and one free stick time session* to continue practicing what they’ve learned in class.

Full equipment is required.

Travel hockey is a competitive program where the club travels and plays clubs from different rinks. They hold try outs every June based on birth year and skill set. Here is the link to the California Heat.
